Deer District is the site of the City of Milwaukee Christmas Tree for the 2022 holiday season! Illuminated by We Energies, Deer District has transformed into Cheer District for the fourth consecutive year.
“We are continuing a grand tradition with some new partners this year, and I am so pleased that our combined efforts will bring the spirit of the holidays to even more Milwaukee residents,” said Mayor Cavalier Johnson. “Deer District has become a central gathering place in Milwaukee, and the official city Christmas tree will be a great complement to all the activity and excitement there.”
The City of Milwaukee Christmas Tree is the longest running official tree in the United States other than New York City’s. This year will mark the 109th year of the city’s tree.

Dynamic Events by David Caruso, designer of the City of Milwaukee Christmas Tree, produced the tree lighting ceremony on November 18 to officially mark the transformation of Deer District into Cheer District for the holiday season.
Milwaukee Makers Market: Dec. 9-11
The Milwaukee Makers Market brings its first-ever three-day event collaboration to The Beer Garden in Deer District. Shop the Market on Friday, Dec. 9, Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11 in celebration of the holiday season.
Twenty Makers are secured for the December market, and each Maker offers a variety of seasonal selections including knitwear, pastries, artwork and jewelry. Makers attending throughout the weekend include BB Cakes, Sassy Beans, Dumbly Bunny Crafts, For the Love of Drax, Cream City Patchworks, Space Time Coffee, Full Circle Healing and more.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to hold the Milwaukee Makers Market for three consecutive days in Deer District,” said Ryan Laessig, Creator of Milwaukee Makers Market. “The location is completely new to the Market, which makes us all the more excited. We’re exposing more of our wonderful small businesses, and that’s what we’re striving for in the end.”
On Friday, Dec. 9 the market will be open 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the market is free. Lunch will be available for purchase from Heirloom MKE: Food Truck with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra: Dec. 22
Multi-platinum, progressive rock group Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) will host its highly anticipated 2022 winter tour, The Ghosts of Christmas Eve – the Best of TSO & More presented by Hallmark Channel, with two shows at Fiserv Forum on Thursday, December 22 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Hunger Task Force.
After its first year off the road in more than two decades, TSO made a triumphant return to touring in 2021 with a 25th anniversary celebration of Christmas Eve and Other Stories. For 2022, TSO brings a completely updated presentation of the unforgettable, multi-generational holiday tradition, “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” to 60 cities across the nation.
